A Blogger's Low

I must apologize to my friends, followers and folks who drop by regularly (oh what the heck ... even the irregular ones) for a visit to this blog. I have been on not only a blogger's low (kinda like a writers' block ... bloggers' block?) lately, but also due to many goings on in my suddenly not so boring life. Please bear with my silence and hopefully this will one day decide to end with a frenzy of cooking and baking. I can't promise it'll be soon and maybe somewhere in between, I might be able to slot in a couple of posts … I still gotta eat and eating out or doing takeaways too often just won't do.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Love you all.
Hugs.

  1. We all go through times like this (I contemplated completely quitting blogging this last summer). Just know that all of us are thinking of you and wishing you well.

  2. Aww, sorry to hear that. It's not happened to us yet but I'm sure everyone goes through spells like this on occasions. It's easy for a blog to completely take over everything and sometimesyou just have to stand back from it all. Hope to see you back soon! :)

  3. Kristen: Yeah, that's how I felt earlier but then I thought not to give in so soon, it's temporary. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Julia: Yes, I've come across many bloggers who have spoken about it and some who have also disappeared completely. Yup, definitely taking a few steps back and come back with a bang. Thanks much.

  4. I was wondering what was happening. If you are already on a blogger's low, from here onwards it should only get better/higher (hopefully not lower!). I see what you mean about eating out too often but then the food in your city is awesome. I am not trying to encourage!!!

  7. Ping, I'm sorry to hear that, but I only hope that the "goings on" in your life are happy and interesting! I will patiently wait for your future posts, as always full of humour and love for cooking.

  8. 3Cookies: Hey Mr T. Haha! That's a good way of looking at it. So true about our awesome food, which makes me wonder if I should just turn this blog into a Malaysian Street/Eat Out food blog. I'd definitely get more invites to restaurant openings ... hmm.

Citra: Hello, dear friend. Yes I hope to come back more energised! :D

Lizzy: So sweet of you, Lizzy. Life isn't bad, just a little hectic and exhaustive (is there such a word?) at the moment and not in the mood to
    potter around the kitchen. Hugs!

Sissi: Thank you, Sissi. With friends like you and everyone here, I'm sure I'll be bouncing back real soon. xx

  15. Sonia: Hi! I guess being a stay at home mom would require one to be constantly providing an interesting menu daily. Unfortunately, I'm not stay at home anything and some days, I'm so exhausted (like right now, just fought the crazy jam for more than an hour before I reached home) to even think of eating. But, yeah, there will be a lull after this storm ... I hope :D
Thanks very much for the wishes.

eattheroses: LOL!!! When I get back on my feet, I'm gonna bug you so much, you're gonna beg me to disappear :D Thanks for coming by so often and for the support. Hug.

  16. Sometimes life just gets in the way. I have slowed down in posting and sometimes when I get home from work, right before I have to go to the store or start dinner...I just sit for a minute and veg. I do miss visiting everyone's blog everyday and the social part of blogging, but sometimes I'm just too tired, and don't go on the computer at all. So I am glad to hear when others feel the same way, I don't feel so guilty about it. I don't even think to get a guest blogger, so I hope they will stick with me. I know I'll be back here when you are ready! That's for sure. Let me know if you need anything!

    Have a great day!

  17. Ping I hope everything and everyone is well. I think we all go through lulls. When we renovated our house before we moved into it we were so exhausted from keeping up with two houses and all the work that I think I cooked once in 3 months. We ordered out twice a day. Was pricey but I just could not cook and install floors. Also when my Dad was sick, I barely cooked for about 8 months, and it was all quick stuff when I did. Life happens. Blogging is alot of work. Some days it's just too much. Take your time and join us when you can. I think the key is balance. It's hard to find that some days. Take care Ping. Whenever you're ready to come back we'll be around.

  18. Lyndsey: I did think of a guest blogger and I'll probably be having a few of them during this period. Would you like to do one for me as well? I'd be honored. Sometimes I wonder if it's a bother when I approach someone with the idea and if they're being obliging even when they don't feel up to it. Give me a holler if you're up to it. Thanks for the support. Have a good weekend.

Kim Bee: Hiya, Kim. Thank you so much for your concern. Everything's good, just feeling a little swamped with stuff going on and around ... not installing floors tho :D. Yeah, life happens and we just have to let it go its course and get to that settling point. Not to worry, I'll get out of this rut soon. One things for sure, each time I read your posts, I laugh so much ... best medicine, right?

  20. Hello, Charles. Thank you for dropping by this very kind comment. I'm coping ok ... just need a bit of time to get adjusted and back into some kind of rhythm again. Be back soon with devoursome stuff! LOL!!

  21. Hi Ping-I was wondering why I haven't heard from you in a while. Unwinding my my SF Blogger Festival trip, I noticed your post, and I do understand how you feel...I really do!
We all go through these emotions, and feeling a bit "low" when it comes to keeping up with our blogs. You are right about...we have to cook, and eat, not just take-out.

There were several times in the last couple weeks that I just did not bother to take photos of my dishes...gets to the point that you get so tired of "posing"...lol...yes, posing your foods to take good photos of it (if possible)...then having to come up with your own recipe, if you are not cooking from an actual recipe!

As for overwhelming family "issues"...welcome to my WORLD!...of which would take a novel to write about! Take for example...I have 2 children, 2 grandchildren, 2 cats, 2 sisters...all of which are in my everyday life...never mind relatives, friends, neighbors. The list goes on...the issues go on, and life has to go on!

Sometimes you have to just block out annoyances, problems, and just focus on YOU! Just take things easy...get plenty of rest, and take each day as it comes, with a positive outlook. I learned not to take things too personally, and not to try to fix people!

I truly care about you, and you have been there for me since we first met. Love your blog, your sense of humor, and I know you will get through these "bumps" and "bumped out" feeling!
Love you, and sending you warm hugs!

  22. Elisabeth: Hello, my dear friend. You made me shed a tear or two with such a heartfelt message. Love you to bits! I did notice you were in 7th heaven at the festival .. I'm very happy you got to go. It wold have been nice to have met up but due to so many things going on, I couldn't just up and leave things unsettled.
Haha! I like that word ... "posing". That so perfectly describes what us bloggers do ... much the same as food stylists, I guess.
Well, I do hope to be back and kicking hard soon. Thanks for the thought and love. Hug back!

  23. Ping, I am so glad I missed this post earlier. It is not that I don't care, I do. I will hate to read that you are feeling low. I know what it is like because I I am the expert at that a year ago. I never see a glass half full, always half empty. I hope whatever bothers you and bringing you down will sort itself out soon. I will miss visiting with you and will definitely miss reading your reply to my comments. They always cracked me up and I admire your wittiness in your replies. However do take your time and take as long as you want to stop blogging. No rush, we will be here whenever you are back in action! HUGS!

  24. QPC: Hey, Veronica. Actually, I like calling you Lucy. :D I'm still smiling. It takes a lot to get me down. I'm just too tired (mentally and physically) at the end of each day to even cook, let alone take nice pictures, hence the lack in activity here. Thank you for your supportive comment. Hug back.
